The Ukrainian parliament has passed a bill on public procurement (No. 3559) that extends all electronic procurement to all budget-funded procurement.

A total of 244 MPs supported the document, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.

“The bill extends electronic procurement – our successful pilot project that has saved Hr 500 million for the state – to all procurement,” Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Maksym Nefyodov said in the parliament, presenting the document.

He said that some 2,300 customers have been connected to the Prozzoro pilot project, and procurement worth Hr 6.5 billion has been conducted. Some 12 percent of the budget-set price was saved.

“In 2016, the passed endorsed document would allow saving up to Hr 4.5 billion in the consolidated budget, and in 2017 when it will work for the whole year – it will save from Hr 35 billion to Hr 40 billion,” Nefyodov said.

The bill will take effect from April 1, 2016 for central executive power and customers that operate in some areas, and from Aug. 1 for all customers.
