You're reading: Red Cross representatives go to Luhansk to organize cargo delivery

An advance team of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), whose task is to assess the situation and to organize humanitarian cargo delivery to residents, has gone to Luhansk, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council said.

“An advance team of [International] Committee of the Red Cross
employees has been sent to Luhansk to assess the situation and to
organize shipping and delivering humanitarian cargo,” Ukrainian National
Security and Defense Council information and analytical center
spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Aug. 19.

“The group of three people plans to arrive today to Ukraine from
Donetsk in Russia’s Rostov region via Donetsk-Izvaryne checkpoints,”
Lysenko said.
