You're reading: Russia restricts import of some Ukrainian goods from Feb.6, says Luhansk Regional Chamber of Industry

Russia from Feb. 6, 2014 took measures to restrict the import of a definite list of the products of Ukrainian enterprises to the territory of Russia, experts of Luhansk Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported. 

“In particular, the returning of the products of AVK, Konti, as well as goods of Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP), to the customs territory of Ukraine has been confirmed. Representatives of Russian Federal Customs Service explained that by problems with the quality of the imported goods,” reads a report posted on the Web site of Luhansk Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday.

According to the Web site, imports of Ukrainian coal (DTEK Sverdlovantracit LLC) to Russia were also restricted, which the latter explained as security measures during the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Neither the Ukrainian government nor any of the named Ukrainian enterprises confirmed this information to Interfax-Ukraine.

On February 6, the Ukrainian government’s commissioner for cooperation with Russia, the CIS and EurAsEC, Valeriy Muntiyan, reported that all problematic issuers linked to the crossing of the Ukrainian-Russian border and the customs clearance of goods can be considered settled.

As for the goods of PJSC Myronivsky Hliboproduct, State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine from February 6 suspended the certification of the export of its products to the Customs Union.
