The Russian Interior Ministry's regional divisions are ready to employ people who have left Ukraine, including former Ukrainian police officers, the press center for the Russian Interior Ministry told Interfax.

“It will be done on condition that they obtain Russian citizenship in accordance with the established procedures and wish to continue serving in the divisions of the Russian Interior Ministry,” the press center said.

Dozens of officers of now disband Berkut special riot police unit have fled with guns, fearing retribution of the new authorities, law enforcement officials say.
