MOSCOW/LONDON - British singer Sarah Brightman made an advance payment for her flight as a space tourist to the International Space Station (ISS) and is hoping to get some of the money back, her press officer Chris Goodman told Interfax-AVN on May 14.

Goodman said the singer is hoping to get back some of the $52 million paid for the flight that will not take place.

Goodman also said Brightman has stopped training for the flight.

Responding to a question as to whether Brightman will train in the future, Goodman said he does not know.

Brightman was expected to fly to the ISS on a Soyuz spacecraft under a
contract between SpaceAdventures and Roscosmos on September 1, 2015.

On May 13, it was reported that the singer had made a decision not to take part in the trip for family reasons.
