The medical card of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, which was withdrawn by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) as part of the investigation into the criminal case on the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) corporation, has been returned to the Medikom clinic, Head of the investigatory department of the SBU in Kharkiv region Mykola Hrabyk has told Interfax-Ukraine in an interview.

According to him, under the current criminal procedure legislation the medical documents were withdrawn for an examination into the characteristics of the accused person.

"The investigator checks all circumstances for the case, which either moderate punishment, or make it stricter. All information about the person, including data about their state of health, is collected," Hrabyk said.

While commenting on a statement by French Human Rights Ambassador Francois Zimeray, according to which he was refused permission to meet with Yulia Tymoshenko due to her undergoing interrogation, the SBU representative said: "Today other investigatory actions were held that do not require the lawyer’s presence, and not an interrogation."

Earlier, the first deputy leader of the Batkivschyna Party, Oleksandr Turchynov, stated that the State Tax Service removed the medical card of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko from the Medikom private clinic, of which Tymoshenko has been a client for over ten years.
