Kharkiv – Searches are being conducted in the building of Investor, a company owned by the former head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration and the chairman of the Kharkiv regional branch of the Batkivschyna Party, Arsen Avakov.

“Searches are being conducted at our company. A man entered the
editorial office and ordered everybody to immediately move away from
their computers, forbidding us to turn them off under the threat of
confiscation. He did not say who he was and presented no documents. He
said that the investigator would explain everything. But we also
received no explanations from the investigator,” a journalist of the
Glavnoe Internet publication, Dmytro Bruk, told an Interfax-Ukraine
reporter.

He said that the Web site had suspended its work. All employees of the editorial staff are on the street.

“I don’t want to imagine what they could do in our office in our absence,” Bruk said.

According to unconfirmed reports, searches are being conducted by the department for combating economic crime.
