The secretary of the political council of the Ukrainian Socialist Party in charge of ideology, Leonid Mordovets, has said that over 115,000 signatures have been collected in support of canceling former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko’s decree awarding the Hero of Ukraine title to Stepan Bandera, a leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN).

He said this while summing up the results of a nationwide event, called "Stepan Bandera is not a Hero of Ukraine," which was conducted in most Ukrainian regions at the Socialist Party’s initiative, the party’s press service reported on Tuesday.

"We’ll submit them [the signatures] to the presidential administration. I think that [Ukrainian President] Viktor Yanukovych will have to respond," Mordovets said.
