The newly elected Ukrainian parliament should hold its first constituent meeting no later than December 14, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn has said.
At a meeting of a conciliation council in Kyiv on Monday, the speaker
noted that under the law, the newly elected MPs are given 20 days to
decide whether they will work in the Verkhovna Rada, or remain in their
current posts.
According to the speaker, then another 20 days are given to the parliament to prepare for a constituent meeting.
“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has to host the first constituent meeting no later than December 14,” Lytvyn said.
