You're reading: Spilna Sprava leader Danylyuk wanted by police

In addition to other EuroMaidan activists, Spilna Sprava leader Oleksandr Danylyuk is also wanted by law enforcement for "organizing riots that caused the death of people or their serious injury," reads the Interior Ministry's database of wanted people.

The offense is punishable by a maximum 15 year prison sentence.

The digital wanted poster says that Danylyuk, 32, disappeared on Jan. 24 and is wanted by the organized crime unit of the main department of the Interior Ministry.

Apparently Danylyuk, a lawyer and native of Kyiv, only became aware that he was wanted by authorities on Jan. 28 when he posted a status update on his Facebook page, citing a Customs Service source. The day before, Danylyuk complained that his wife and son had experienced delays and problems boarding a London-bound plan in Kyiv.

Jan. 28 was the last day Danylyuk was active on Facebook and he has been unreachable on his mobile phone number since.

Authorities and opposition leaders condemned Danylyuk’s group for seizing three national government buildings last week in Kyiv deemed having strategic significance: Agriculture Ministry, Energy Ministry, and Justice Ministry.

The group eventually vacated the buildings but not before causing a stir. Justice Minister Olena Lukash had threatened to demand that the National Security Council impose a state of emergency in the country. Detractors of Spilna Sprava branded the group as “provocateurs.”

Three activists of the roving protest-on-wheels, AutoMaidan, are also wanted by police, inlcuding its leader Dmytro Bulatov who was found alive on Jan. 31 but beaten, mutilated and crucified while spending eight days in captivity.
