Svoboda Party demands to categorize criminal proceedings related to beating of MP of Svoboda faction Andriy Ilyenko and his lawyer Sydir Kizin from hooliganism to attempted murder.

“Today the police categorized the case as hooliganism… it’s obvious that
someone wanted to kill people,” MP of Svoboda Yuriy Syrotiuk said at a briefing
in the headquarters of the national resistance on Saturday in Kyiv.

He said that Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko is responsible for
beating of Svoboda members and he is to resign urgently.

Syrotiuk also said that Svoboda demands that investigator Hovynsky who
interrogated Ilyenko and who knew the place and the time when the interrogation
was finished (later Ilyenko and Kizin got beaten not far from the building of
the police department) is discharged.

MP of Svoboda Oleksiy Kaida said that pressure on Svoboda members and members
of their families continue. He said that cars of Svoboda activists were set on
fire and letters with threats were received.

“We demand to quickly investigate into all criminal cases,” Kaida said.
