You're reading: Tabachnyk: No university has yet declared a strike

Ukrainian Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has said that no Ukrainian university has yet started the procedure for declaring a strike.

“Declaring a strike in any higher educational institution must comply
with the procedure. This decision can only be taken at a labor
conference,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.

He said that without complying with a certain procedure, calling a
strike could be seen as adopting a politicizing or radical position.

At the same time, Tabachnyk added: “There has currently been no
conference of the labor collective at universities who could make such a
decision [to declare a strike].”
