You're reading: Traffic police start knocking on protesters’ doors

State Traffic Police officers have been going to the homes of people who went to the residence of President Viktor Yanukovych in Mezhyhirya on Sunday, December 29.

As seen from posts on social networking pages, this has been going on for several days.

Traffic police representatives come to people’s homes and ask about the vehicles’ owners. The owners are then summoned for interviews. As it turns out, the traffic police representatives refer to the fact that the owners of the vehicles allegedly did not stop upon the request of a traffic police officer.

According to a document posted by one such car owner, the traffic cops insist on the owners “providing a vehicle for inspection.”

Ukrainska Pravda tried to get a comment from Natalya Storozhik, press secretary of the State Traffic Police, at about 17:40, but she said she had no such information at that moment and promised to find out. However as of 18:49, she did not take up the phone.
