Verkhovna Rada Chairman and Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has said that anti-terrorist measures will be taken against separatists who seized administrative buildings in Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions using arms.

“An anti-crisis headquarters was set up tonight, and anti-terrorist
measures will be taken against those who took up arms,” he said in a
televised address in Kyiv on Monday. Turchynov also said security on
Ukraine’s eastern border had been strengthened.

He said that the actions of separatist groups were being coordinated by the Russian special services.

“What happened yesterday is a second wave of a special operation by
the Russian Federation against Ukraine, whose purpose is to destabilize
the situation in the country, overthrow the Ukrainian authorities,
disrupt the elections, and break our country into pieces,” he said.
