The first deputy head of Ukraine's oppositional Batkivschyna Party, Oleksandr Turchynov, has said he does not believe that the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze can be solved under the current government.

Commenting on the opening of a criminal case against Ukraine’s second president (1994-2005) Leonid Kuchma, Turchynov said that he knew nothing about this matter.

"I can only say that under the current government we are not likely to see those who actually organized and ordered the murder of journalist Gongadze in the dock," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
