MINSK - The security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine has reported on two priority areas cleared of mines in Donbas, with 12 others yet to be cleared.

OSCE envoy Martin Sajdik reminded reporters that it had been agreed that 12 priority areas would be cleared of mines first. Today the working group on security issues announced that the mine clearance in two of them had been completed, he said. It was agreed that the remaining areas will be cleared before March 21 and support facilities will be restored, he said.

Sajdik, in turn, insists that it is necessary to secure an unconditional access for OSCE SMM (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine) monitors to populated areas located in the conflict zone.

Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM Ertugrul Apakan raised the question of lifting all restrictions regarding the access to the conflict zone for the OSCE SMM monitors, Sajdik said.
