A special investigator is questioning former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko as a suspect on a criminal case dealing with abuse of office during the conclusion of gas supply agreements with Russia in 2009.

It has been determined that Tymoshenko made the decision on signing the gas contracts single-handedly, which inflicted damages on the state’s interests surpassing Hr 1.5 billion, the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.

Other investigative procedures on this case are also under way, it said.
