The daughter of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Yevhenia Carr, had a first meeting with her mother in Kachanivska penal colony No 54 in Kharkiv on Jan. 5.

According to the official Web site of Yulia Tymoshenko, the meeting took place in a separate room of the penitentiary.

According to Carr, there is a bed in the room.

"My mother lies all the time, she does not rise, as it hurts when she sits. She was lying all the time while we were talking," she added.

Tymoshenko also said that her mother’s health was deteriorating due to the fact that the light was constantly switched on.

"She is getting worse because the light is on all the time. We will fight so that they stop violating her rights. The constant lighting is against all rules of humane treatment," the ex-premier’s daughter said.

According to the Health Ministry of Ukraine, representatives of Kharkiv regional health inspection service measured the power of lighting of the night lamp in Tymoshenko’s cell at night. They established that it did not exceed the international standards for night lighting, including for medical wards, and could not disturb sleep or rest.
