Ukrainian ex-Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has started testifying on the gas case at Kyiv's Pechersky District Court on Wednesday.

As reported by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, at the beginning of the court hearing on Wednesday Judge Rodion Kireyev announced a new petition on the withdrawal of the judge filed by Tymoshenko’s defense.

The judge ignored the petition, explaining that he has considered the same petitions several times and that they are aimed at delaying the trial.

Tymoshenko announced that she was ready to testify.

Kireyev answered, "If you respect the law, stand up to give your testimony."

Tymoshenko ignored him and started testifying from her seat.

She added that written testimony would be added to her oral testimony.
