Kyiv and Minsk can resolve the question of supplies of Belarusian dairy products to the Ukrainian market after May holidays, the director of the department of veterinary medicine at the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine, Vitaliy Bashynsky, has said.

"Belarusians are very properly responding to changes in the world, so I think they will soon get the permission [to supply dairy products to Ukraine]… Theoretically, it will be possible after May holidays," he told reporters in Kyiv on April 25.

Bashynsky also noted that an action plan had currently been drafted and that it had already been half implemented by the Belarusian side.

As reported, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine suspended from March 1, 2012 imports to Ukraine of milk and dairy products from Belarus, as well as animals susceptible to African swine fever, and products made from them.

In March, experts from the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine checked Belarus control system for meat and dairy products.
