KHARKIV, August 3 – Ukraine’s Security Service has again expelled a Turkish citizen engaged in the organization of illegal migration, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Thursday.

According to the Security Service’s press service in Kharkiv oblast, the Turkish citizen, Mengi Husein, was escorted out of Ukraine on Tuesday. The press service noted that this is the second time that Mengi Husein has been expelled from Ukraine.

He was deported the first in June 1997 for participating in the organization of a channel of illegal migration through Ukraine’s territory into Western Europe.

Thereafter, after receiving a new national passport and an illegal service visa in Turkey, Mr. Husein arrived in Ukraine again.

The first time around, Mr. Husein escaped from Ukrainian law enforcement bodies, but was detained during an attempt to cross the Ukraine-Poland border. The Luboml district court of Volyn oblast sentenced Husein to deprivation of freedom.

After serving his sentence, Husein established contacts with a foreign extremist organization and went to Kharkiv where he engaged in the organization of a channel of illegal migration, which led to his second arrest and deportation.
