Separatists managed to exchange 26 Ukrainian servicemen captured for 26 militia supporters on Thursday evening, First Deputy Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" (DPR) Andriy Purhin said.

“The exchange has just taken place. Essentially, we have exchanged 26 for 26, all our people exchanged are going to Donetsk,” Purhin told Interfax.

Purhin spoke earlier of their plans to swap prisoners under a “25 for 25” scheme.
