You're reading: Ukraine leaders extend condolences to friends and families of Istanbul terror act victims

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman have extended their condolences to friends and families of those killed in a terror act in Istanbul (Turkey) on June 28.

“Appalled with a heinous terrorist attack in Istanbul Airport. My thoughts are with victims and their families,” the president wrote on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

“My sincere condolences to friends and families of those killed and injured in the Istanbul Airport terror act,” the prime minister wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

Groysman emphasized that terrorism has no excuses.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin also wrote a condolence message over the terror act.

“Our consuls have been checking Istanbul hospitals all night and until this moment,” he wrote on Twitter.

As reported, 36 people were killed and 147 injured in a terror act in Istanbul airport on June 28.

One Ukrainian woman was killed and one Ukrainian man was wounded in leg during the terror act.
