Ukraine intends to focus on at least three key issues on the agenda of the upcoming EU-Ukraine Summit in Brussels – the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU by the end of the year, the implementation of the visa liberalization action plan with the EU, and financial and economic cooperation, a presidential adviser and Head of the Main Department on Foreign Relations at the Presidential Administration, Andriy Honcharuk, has said.

“We’re planning to raise at least three issues [at the EU-Ukraine Summit]. The first is our aspiration and readiness to sign the agreement on association and the creation of a free trade area [with the EU] in the near future, at least by the end of this year. The second is the preparations for the implementation of the second practical phase of the bilateral visa liberalization action plan,” he told a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.

“I don’t want to announce the third issue, we’re working on it together, I mean two or three agreements on our financial and economic or investment cooperation,” Honcharuk said.

As reported, the 16th summit of Ukraine and the EU will be held in Brussels on February 25, 2013.
