The city of Mariupol. The industrial heart of the Donetsk region, and one of the biggest seaports in Ukraine. Approximately 500,000 people live here, just about 20 kilometers from the contact line. Echoes of war can often be heard in the eastern districts of the city. Aside from that, Mariupol lives a normal life nowadays, attracting tens of thousands of refugees from the occupied territories.
