The membership of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine in the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS has been terminated, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has reported.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office has initiated the withdrawal from the decisions of the Council of the Prosecutors General of the CIS dated January 25, 2000, from the Coordinating Council of the Prosecutors General of the CIS, and the termination of the membership in this agency, which was supported by the leadership of the state,” the press service said in a statement released on March 26. The PGO said this decision was due to a lack of tangible results and a formalistic approach towards the work of the Coordinating Council. According to the website of the CIS Executive Committee, on March 17, 2015, Ukraine withdrew from the decisions of the Council of CIS Heads of State and suspended the membership of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine in the Coordinating Council of the Prosecutors General of the CIS
