President Viktor Yanukovych has signed into law bill No. 4819-VI, "On changes to the Ukrainian law, 'On organizing and conducting the final part of the 2012 European football championship in Ukraine'," concerning the health of fans and athletes and creating a favorable atmosphere for viewing the Euro 2012 matches, the president's press office said on Friday.

The bill was passed by Verkhovna Rada on May 23.

The document bans the sale and use of tobacco products and items related with tobacco consumption at the sports facilities where the Euro 2012 events will be taking place.

Any advertisement of tobacco products, advertisement of trademark for goods and services, and other brands under which tobacco products are made is prohibited, the law says.
