You're reading: Ukrainian president meets with Kazakh prime minister on his way to Seoul

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov in Astana (Kazakhstan), the presidential press service reported on Monday,March 26.

"The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and stressed the need to support and maintain the current dynamics of the political dialog between our countries," reads the statement.

According to the press service, Yanukovych and Massimov paid particular attention to trade and economic cooperation.

As reported, the Ukrainian president left for Seoul (South Korea) early on Monday to participate in a nuclear security summit, which will be held on March 26-27. As part of his visit, he is also to hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with the leadership of South Korea, the UN secretary general, and the heads of delegations from other countries and international organizations, including the United States and the European Union.
