You're reading: Ukrainian, Slovak presidents sign amendments to agreement on border movement

Bratislava (Slovakia), June 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine and Slovakia have agreed to increase the term of stay of citizens of the two countries in the border areas from 30 to 90 days within a period of 180 days.

This is envisaged in an agreement signed on Friday in Bratislava, which amends the agreement between Ukraine and the government Slovakia on local border movement dated May 30, 2008.

In addition, the document provides for issuing permits free of charge to residents of border areas of the two countries by relevant authorities of the two countries. The amendments also reduce the term of issuing the permits from 60 to 30 days.
