WARSAW, Poland — Poland's Foreign Ministry says more than 200 Ukrainians and 15 Poles are being evacuated by a Ukrainian military plane from the heavy fighting in Syrian city of Aleppo.

Ministry spokesman Marcin
Bosacki said the plane would fly from Aleppo airport to Kiev, Ukraine,
on Wednesday. The evacuees reached Aleppo airport safely, despite
attacks on the access road on Tuesday.

He said most of the
evacuees were Polish and Ukrainian women who were married to Syrians,
and their children. They decided to evacuate amid escalating fighting
between rebels and the Syrian army.
