You're reading: Ukrtelecom not holding talks to sell infrastructure or assets in Crimea

Public joint-stock company Ukrtelecom is not holding negotiations on the sale of its infrastructure or a part of its assets in Crimea and it is not looking for a strategic investor in the region, the company's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“The company is functioning only according to Ukrainian law. As a national operator, Ukrtelecom is responsible to its subscribers in all regions and provides for stable communications. The operator continues providing communications services in full all over Ukraine, and Crimea is not an exception,” the press service said.

Ukrtelecom said that there are certain difficulties in mutual payments between Crimea and the continental part of Ukraine, which affect the quickness of payments for communications services provided to clients.

“The company is doing its best so that users of our services were always on call and it is looking for settling the problems of payments for services provided. We hope that with the promotion of relevant state agencies the problem will be soon resolved,” Ukrtelecom said.

Earlier Russian mass media said that Rostelecom plan to acquire telecommunications networks in Crimea.
