Top managers of Ukrzaliznytsia have initiated the check by law-enforcement agencies of all the contractors with which Ukrainian railways and railway transport enterprises cooperate under contracts.

The press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reported that a letter with a
request to promote the protection of legal rights and interests of the
state from illegal actions and attacks was sent to the Public
Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.

“The law-enforcement agencies are to help Ukrzaliznytsia to find out
if any of the contractor s of the railway sector cooperates with
representatives of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk people’s
republics. After the check of the lawfulness of actions during the
signing of agreements between railways, enterprises and their
contractors these facts could be unveiled,” reads the report.

Ukrzaliznytsia said that a long list of contractors with which
railways and railway transport enterprises signed contracts was
submitted to the law-enforcement agencies with the purpose of getting
the unbiased conclusions on the issue.

“Totally, thousands of contracts are to be checked if contractors
cooperate with separatists, as information was collected from six
Ukrainian railways and 31 enterprises subordinated to the State Railway
Administration of Ukraine,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.

If infringements are established, Ukrzaliznytsia asks to Public Prosecutor’s Office to take measures under Ukrainian law.
