State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia has denied the information that appeared in mass media on the cancellation of high-speed Intercity+ trains produced by Korea's Hyundai Rotem during the New Year holidays, Ukrzaliznytsia's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“Neither Ukrzaliznytsia, nor Ukrainian High-Speed Railway Company
made decision on the cancellation of Hyundai trains. This information is
not true,” the press service said.

The interlocutor of the agency also noted that there is no panic
about this, and all the passengers would be transported to their
destinations by Hyundai Rotem electric trains. If the trains break, they
will be replaced with other rolling stock.

According to a press release from Ukrzaliznytsia, on December 26
Hyundai Rotem trains were replaced on seven out of 16 routes. Nine
Hyundai Rotem trains continued running. There are no delays in the
schedule of Hyundai Rotem trains.

“The team of Korean experts are removing the shortcomings identified
during operation. In the near future all the trips of Ukrainian Express
trains will be performed by Hyundai Rotem electric trains,” reads the
document.

Intercity+ trains daily perform four trips on the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Kyiv
route, two trips on the Kyiv-Lviv-Kyiv route, six trips on the
Kyiv-Donetsk-Kyiv route, and four trips on the Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk-Kyiv
route.

Earlier the mass media reported that Ukrzaliznytsia decided to cancel
all Hyundai high-speed trains for the New Year holidays due to frequent
breakdowns.
