State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia has stated that he court ruling on the payment of Hr 612 million by Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways to Dogus Insaatve Ticaret A.S. (Turkey) for the construction of a rail-road bridge across the Dnipro River in Kyiv is premature and false.

“In fact, on Sept. 17, 2015 the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv considered the request of the Turkish company for permission to enforce the foreign court’s decision and allowed the execution of the ruling of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland in Ukraine, however, this decision has not entered into force and is not final,” the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

It also reported that on Sept. 18, 2015 Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways filed an appeal against the decision of the Shevchenkivsky District Court, which has already been accepted for proceedings by the Kyiv Court of Appeals.

“The Kyiv Court of Appeals will assess the validity of the findings of the trial court and give an objective evaluation for all the evidence in the case file,” the administration said.
