The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine has reported that in the first hours of the sale of tickets for Hyundai high-speed trains, a total of 2,400 tickets were sold in the country.

The press service of the ministry told Interfax-Ukraine that Ukrzaliznytsia plans to sell around 10,000 tickets every day after obtaining all of the Hyundai trains.Vice Premier and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine that at present prospects for the development of high-speed train services in the country are being studied.

"The Hyundai high-speed train costs around $29 million, while the trains of Kriukov Car Building Works cost $26 million. With a difference of 10%, Kriukov Car Building Works made only one train, and the train remains in a workshop and has not been tested," the minister said, answering a question on the prospects of the organization of high-speed train services in the country.

He said that he has questions for the top managers of Kriukov Car Building Works: why, with a difference of 10% between the cost of trains made by Kriukov Works, and the cost of trains made at Hyundai Rotem, are wages at the South Korean plant $4,000-5,000 on average, while the workers of Kriukov Car Building Works receive UAH 4,000?
