The Eurosport group of television channels has decided to challenge the termination of the Еurosport and Еurosport 2 TV channels broadcasting by Kyiv-based Volia Group in court, reads a press release of Еurosport issued on Thursday, Jan. 5.

"In late December 2011, Eurosport filed several claims in several cities of Ukraine so that Volia subscribers could watch their favorite sports programs soon," reads the report.

Eurosport said that the decision of the Volia Group not to include the group’s channels to its packages is the unilateral cancelation of an agreement which is in effect until 2013.

At present, the Eurosport Group has six sports television channels, including two HD channels.

The Volia Group had decided from January 1, 2012 to stop broadcasting Еurosport and Еurosport2 TV channels due to the increase of the license fees.

Еurosport denied information that the group changed the conditions of the agreement with Volia for 2012.
