You're reading: Video equipment at polling stations to be removed after official announcement of election results

The dismantling of video surveillance equipment at the voting stations can start no earlier than the results of the elections being reported, the executor of the project, Sitronics IT, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“The removal [of the cameras], which will be done by our partners,
the operators, can’t start before the official posting of the results of
the elections of Central Election Commission. We must receive an order
from CEC for the process of removal to start,” the company reported.

At present the process of copying video files in full high resolution is starting in the data-processing centers.

Talking about the further destiny of the equipment, Sitronics IT said the state client would decide it.

“The client will decide where our partners will deliver hardware and software systems,” the company said.

As reported, on October 28 parliamentary elections in Ukraine took
place. Sitronics IT together with its partners equipped 32,188 voting
stations with video surveillance systems. The value of the contract was
$122.6 million (Hr 993.6 million).
