The health condition of former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko remains unchanged, she does not receive treatment, the ex-premier's defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko has said.

"Her health condition hasn’t changed," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

Vlasenko said that former prime minister still "does not receive any treatment other than painkillers."

Since late November, Tymoshenko has been held in a medical unit of Lukyanivka detention center. The defense team says her condition is deteriorating. However, Tymoshenko refuses to make blood tests.

The ex-premier has been held in custody since Aug. 5, 2011. On Oct. 11, Kyiv Pechersky Court sentenced her to seven years for exceeding her powers when signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009.

On Dec. 23, the Kyiv Court of Appeals upheld the sentence by Kyiv Pechersky Court.

Besides this, Tymoshenko is also part of other criminal inquiries, in particular, into the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU).

On Dec. 7 and 8, the Shevchenkivsky District Court held an offsite session at a pre-trial detention center and ordered the arrest of Tymoshenko in connection with the UESU case.
