You're reading: Vlasenko: Tymoshenko’s health condition still poor

The health condition of the former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is currently held at Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv, is still very poor, her defendse counsel Serhiy Vlasenko has said.

"Despite the bravura statements by the Health Ministry, she cannot move unaided, so it is difficult for me to judge what they mean by satisfactory health condition. Probably, the main task of the Health Ministry’s medical commission is to misinform the international community about the health condition of Yulia Tymoshenko," he told reporters outside Kachanivska colony in Kharkiv on Thursday.

Vlasenko said that a bed was placed in the visiting room for Tymoshenko.

"Yulia Volodymyrivna goes through a narrow corridor just 80 centimeters wide, and lies down," he said.

He also said that Tymoshenko was meeting with her daughter, Yevhenia, at the moment.

According to Vlasenko, an investigator of the SBU banned Tymoshenko to meet with her daughter and defense counsel simultaneously.
