A defense lawyer of Ukraine's former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Serhiy Vlasenko, has said the ex-premier hasn't changed her position concerning her treatment outside Kachanivska penal colony.

A relevant statement was made public by the Batkivschyna party’s press service on April 11 after the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine said Tymoshenko gave a prior consent to be taken to the hospital of the Ukrainian Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) in Kharkiv for treatment.

"Firstly, the treatment should take place according to the protocol set by German doctors, who said that Yulia Tymoshenko needs immediate treatment in a specialized hospital outside the prison service. Since the Ukrzaliznytsia hospital is not a specialized institution, we have addressed German doctors with a request to give an opinion whether the hospital can guarantee that all recommendations of German physicians are met. A final decision will be made by Yulia Volodymyrivna after the conclusion of German doctors," he said.

Secondly, Tymoshenko insists that she should be treated by independent doctors, Vlasenko said.
