Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that 2013 should become a year of social justice. 

“The next year should become a year of development and social justice,” the president said in his New Year’s greeting aired on all national channels on the night of January 1.

In his words, the beginning of work of the new parliament and government gives opportunities for constructive cooperation among all major political forces for the benefit of Ukraine.

“The protection of national dignity should become the main principle of our foreign policy, while unity and harmony of the Ukrainian people should be the key response to the new challenges of economic crisis. I believe we can unite for the sake of our happy future,” the president stressed.

Yanukovych also said that the year 2012 was marked with new achievements for our country.

Ukraine successfully held the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, thus inscribing its name in the history of European football.

The New Year’s greeting by President Yanukovych was recorded at Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
