You're reading: Yanukovych dismisses number of officials that became people’s deputies

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has dismissed a number of officials on Thursday due to their election as people's deputies.

A posting on the president’s Web site reads that the president dismissed Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor Kaletnik.

In addition, Yanukovych dismissed Oleksiy Leliuk from the position of head of the State Reserve Agency and Nestor Shufrych from the position of deputy secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.

The president also dismissed Viktor Zherebniuk as head of Desniansky District State Administration of Kyiv.

According to the Ukrainian legislation, candidates that were elected as people’s deputies have to submit to the Central Election Commission documents confirming their dismissal from previous work place within 20 days (until December 3, 2012).
