Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has filed a lawsuit against Ukraine with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in connection with alleged abuses of his human rights.

“In his complaint, he has asked the court to acknowledge the violation of his rights under the European Convention on Human Rights, including the right to a fair trial (Article 6), the right to an effective investigation into the attempts on his life and the right to protect his life (Article 2), as well as the right not to be discriminated against on political grounds and on grounds of their beliefs (Article 14),” reads a press release available to Interfax-Ukraine on Oct. 19.
