You're reading: Yanukovych gives latest instructions to new Donetsk governor

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed the newly appointed head of Donetsk Regional State Administration, Andriy Shyshatsky, to deal with certain problems of the region.

"We have discussed a range of pressing issues, which currently exist in the region," Shyshatsky said after a meeting with the president in Crimea on Wednesday.

According to the presidential press service, Yanukovych ordered the governor to solve the problems in the public utilities sector, in the coal industry, in particular the payment of wage arrears, as well as to attend to improving the environmental situation in Donetsk region.
