You're reading: Yanukovych signs law on protection of production of Ukrainian spacecraft

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a law regulating protection of spacecraft, its manufacturing and companies operating in the sphere passed by the parliament on December 9, 2011, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.

The law amends the law on space activities, according to which corporate paramilitary security divisions, officers of which have the right to use gun under procedures set in Ukrainian law to protect spacecraft during its production, testing, transportation and exploitation, to protect property of spacecraft producers at enterprise defined by the central executive power body for space activities agreeing them with the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

According to the law, the central executive power body for space activities approves a resolution on the corporate paramilitary security divisions agreeing it with the Interior Ministry and supervises their operation.
