Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make official visits to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar on Nov. 25-28, according to presidential adviser Andriy Honcharuk.

According to the presidential press service, during a visit to the UAE Yanukovych will meet with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Prime Minister and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In Qatar the Ukrainian president will hold talks with Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Muhammad Al Thani.

“Special attention will be paid to important issues of Ukraine-UAE and Ukraine-Qatar cooperation, first of all, trade and economy, science and technology, and investment spheres,” reads the statement.

In Abu Dhabi Yanukovych will also participate in the UAE-Ukrainian Business Forum, and in Doha he will attend a presentation of Ukrainian national projects organized by the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine.

“These events will contribute to development of direct business contacts between Ukraine, the UAE, and Qatar, as well as to the launch of mutually beneficial business projects,” reads the statement.

The sides are planning to sign a number of documents, in particular one related to the provision of mutual legal assistance and cooperation in the aviation sphere with the UAE, and one on the liberalization of visa travel with Qatar.

“The visits of the Ukrainian president to the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar will definitely stimulate the further deepening of the bilateral political dialogue with the Persian Gulf, as well as contribute to further active cooperation in the trade and economy, investment, energy, agriculture, science and technology, and other spheres,” Honcharuk said.
