Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said Ukraine would like to bid to host the FIFA World Cup in future, following the successful holding of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

“We have a dream that some day Ukraine will host the World Cup. We
will work for this,” the president told journalists, following a meeting
with UEFA President Michel Platini in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Yanukovych also expressed will to work jointly with the UEFA
leadership on further development of football in Ukraine, Europe and in
the world.

The president thanked Platini for the chance to host such a big
football event as the European Football Championship that was given to
Ukraine.

As reported, Brazil will host the World Cup in 2014, Russia in 2018, and Qatar in 2022.
