Batkivschyna, UDAR, Svoboda to create opposition council to coordinate activity in Rada

“We have held preliminary talks with all opposition parties. First and foremost, I’m talking about the Svoboda and UDAR parties, and we reached preliminarily agreement that we will set up an opposition council that will take decisions on which laws to submit [for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada] and how to conduct the voting procedure, and the procedure for the consideration of such bills,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

Yatseniuk said that each of the parties went to the polls with their own ideological foundations and programs, but the parties signed a declaration on joint actions and this declaration became the foundation for the submission of draft laws that are of key importance for the state, and which are the basis of the pre-election promises of the opposition parties, for consideration by parliament.
