Premier of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has proposed to liquidate the institution of the economic courts in Ukraine and to charge the courts of general jurisdiction to fulfill their functions.

“The economic courts must be liquidated and these functions must be transferred to the courts of the general jurisdiction,” the premier said opening a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday.

He said that the occupancy rate of the economic courts today is 3% off the occupancy of the first instance courts.

As reported, the idea of the elimination of the economic courts has been actively discussed in the administration of Viktor Yanukovych, but the final decision has not been made.
