You're reading: Yatsenyuk says NATO recognizes need to continue putting pressure on Russia

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the People's Front Party Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow noted the unanimity of the alliance and our state's approach to the Russian Federation.

The failed Russian provocation against Ukraine was being discussed, Yatsenyuk wrote on his Facebook page.

“Ukraine is at the forefront of protection of its independence and protection of EU and NATO member states. It is not easy to protect Ukraine and Europe against the heavily-armed Russia, which ranks second in terms of nuclear potential in the world, without a real, very clear practical assistance from NATO member states, primarily in arms supplies to the Ukrainian army,” he wrote.

“All NATO member states recognize the need to continue putting pressure on Russia, and NATO is united in this approach,” the ex-premier said.
